Danny practices exclusively in the area of bankruptcy and insolvency, including corporate restructuring, bankruptcy, receiverships and enforcement of creditors' rights and remedies.
REPRESENTATIVE WORK
- Part of the team representing Look Communications Inc. with respect to a plan of arrangement under the Canada Business Corporations Act
- Assisted senior counsel in TGF's representation of Fraser Papers Inc. and its subsidiaries in CCAA proceedings
- Acted on behalf of NBC Universal Television Distribution in the CCAA proceedings of Canwest, Allarco Entertainment and TQS Inc.
- Counsel to the receiver appointed in the Cayman Islands over Canadian bank accounts of a Caymanian LLC and investment manager in recognition proceedings and repatriation of funds
- Assisted the Grenadian receiver for Capital Bank International Limited in receivership proceedings commenced under the Grenadian Companies Act
- Acted on behalf of the court-appointed receiver for FactorCorp Inc./FactorCorp Financial Inc. and ASL Direct Inc.
Danny is a member of The Advocates' Society, INSOL International, Canadian Bar Association, the Turnaround Management Association and the Ontario Bar Association, Insolvency Section. Danny is also involved with the Portuguese Canadian Lawyers Association and the Sports Lawyers Association.
